Collecting personal information

Using personal information

We collect your data so that we can communicate with you in an accurate and appropriate way, whatever your relationship to Desynit: that is our legitimate interest in processing your data.
The data we hold is so that we can:
- understand which organisation you work for and your role (employee, job title);
- can contact you (telephone no; email address; social media contact information)
- know what contact we’ve had with you before and have a record of your response (email trail; marketing communications received and whether or not they were opened).
We do not use your personal data for profiling purposes and/ or to make automatic decisions, beyond basic engagement e.g. whether or not you are opening and reading our emails.
Your privacy settings can be used to limit the publication of your information on our website, and can be adjusted using privacy controls on the website.
Disclosing personal information
We may disclose your personal information to any of our employees, officers, insurers, professional advisers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy.
We may disclose your personal information:
- to the extent that we are required to do so by law;
- in connection with any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings;
- in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);
- to the purchaser (or prospective purchaser) of any business or asset that we are (or are contemplating) selling; and
- to any person who we reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that personal information where, in our reasonable opinion, such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order disclosure of that personal information.
Other than in the circumstances described above, we do not share your personal data with anyone outside of Desynit, unless it is specified in any agreement with you or you have given us your express permission.
International data transfers
Apart from where your data is hosted in Salesforce and Google Drive we do not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area. Where your data is in Salesforce and Google Drive it will be transferred outside the EEA. Any such transfers are made on the basis of either Privacy Shield or the European Union’s Model Clauses. More details of Salesforce Privacy Shield certification can be found here and details of Google’s Privacy Shield compliance can be found here. If you do not want your data transferred outside of the EEA then you must stop using our services.
Personal information that you publish on our website or submit for publication on our website may be available, via the internet, around the world. We cannot prevent the use or misuse of such information by others.
Retaining personal information
This Section 6 sets out our data retention policies and procedure, which are designed to help ensure that we comply with our legal obligations in relation to the retention and deletion of personal data in accordance with the GDPR.
We will only hold on to personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected or for as long as we are legally required to do so.
- We will retain data relating to customer completed client work for 7 years after completion of the contract.
- Data relating to prospective customers who did not go on to become customers, we will retain for 5 years.
Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Section 6, we will retain documents (including electronic documents) containing personal data
- to the extent that we are required to do so by law;
- if we believe that the documents may be relevant to any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings; and
- in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk).
Security of personal information
We have put in place appropriate technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse, access to or alteration of your personal information in an unauthorised way.
We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure (password- and firewall-protected) servers.
All electronic financial transactions entered into through our website will be protected by encryption technology.
You acknowledge that the transmission of information over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
Your data is only accessible to Desynit employees with a valid logon to our Salesforce.com instance. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. The platform is password protected. The data is held on servers in Salesforce.com’s European data centre and protected by the strictest data security measures in the industry.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Pardot sets first-party cookies for tracking purposes, and sets third-party cookies for redundancy. Using first-party and third-party cookies together is standard in the marketing automation industry.
Pardot cookies don’t store personally identifying information, only a unique identifier.
Pardot sets first-party cookies on your tracker subdomains and Pardot domains. Pardot uses third-party cookies on https pages and when your account doesn’t have a tracker subdomain set up.

The “__cfduid” cookie is set by the CloudFlare service to identify trusted web traffic. It does not correspond to any user id in the web application, nor does the cookie store any personally identifiable information
